Abdulsamed Ahmed Abdullahi, a twenty-six-year-old Dutchman of Somali origin, is a pleasant surprise in the domestic championship, proving his football quality and being one of the key players for Mladost in the autumn part of the season.
As a former player for Kozaki Boys, Sparta and Greek side Ergotelis, he was particularly popular and had a strong connection with Den Bosch fans, who had a special fan song for him.
We ask him about his first impressions of Montenegrin football?
Abdullahi: My impression of football in Montenegro is very positive.
Physically and tactically, it is very similar to neighboring countries.
The league has quality players. Many young players perform in the First League. It shows that there is great potential.
Mladost.LobBet, you had a good start, later a period of crisis and towards the end you started playing well again?
Abdullahi: “I don’t know the exact reason why we didn’t play well.
We tried our best, but we kept losing. Our coach Rajo told us to stay positive.
We gave our best and won 2 important games just before the break”.
Who could you point out in the Mladosti.Lob.Bet team, who do you think can make a good career and from other teams in the Montenegrin league as talented?
Abdullahi: “Ljubomir Pejović and Jovan Vujisić are two young defenders who are very talented. I think they have improved a lot and can have good careers.
Our striker Bogdan Milić is very experienced and has a quality that helps the team a lot.
There are a lot of good players in the league. Matanović from Sutjeska is a very good left midfielder with exceptional technique.”
Are you the captain of the Somalia national team?
Abdullahi: “Since the beginning of my professional career in 2019, I have played for the Somalia national football team.
We are in a low position in the FIFA ranking, but we are currently starting to get talented players from all over the world.
During 2021, I had the honor of being the captain.
We have difficulties in representing our national team.
If these difficulties are overcome and better conditions are created for football players, I will represent my country again.”
