When it was thought that the financial situation in Rudar could not be worse, it turned out to be worse than worse. The first league team from Pljevlja is on the verge of shutting down, and the club’s account is blocked. President of Rudar and goalkeeper coach Miloš Radanović told us that earlier debts have come to be paid.
– It is true that we are blocked by the public bailiff from Podgorica who was hired by Žarko Peličić, who lent money to Rudar last season.
There is a confirmation for each loan and we do not dispute the debt. We do not dispute that we are late with the payment of the installment that we were supposed to pay on the first day of November. A series of unplanned circumstances affected the delay in payment, said Radanović, who hopes that a new agreement will be reached
– After talking with the President of the Municipality, Dr. Dario Vraneš, we came to an agreement to find the money, of course, in accordance with the financial possibilities of the Municipality of Pljevlja. Of course, the Municipality will not pay back our debts, it is enough to help in looking for a sponsor so that we pay back the debt in installments.
We do not have 152,000 euros to repay the entire debt, we would like to have it, but unfortunately that is the situation. We are dragging out old debts. In total, we owe half a million euros on various grounds.
Believe me, the invoices from Antalya, from 2018, are still arriving. The new management of the club made a plan on how to pay back the debts and we are sticking to it. I travel on the day of the match, we run out of the bus onto the pitch. We only spend the night if someone honors us, and there are people who love the Miner.
The players’ salaries are regular, the coaches’ salaries are late, but we were on the way to regulate that as well. We didn’t spend money on preparations, we traveled to friendly matches.., but this changes everything,
says a man who has been in Rudar for more than 20 years.
Radanović said that he expects new sponsorship from business entities.
Thanks to the then executive director of Rudnik Uglja, Milan Lekić, we received close to 70,000 euros, by hiring the executive director of EPCG, Nikola Rovčanin, we received the largest sponsorship contract in the history of the club from this company, 70,000 euros. We are in talks for new contracts, which I hope will be bigger.
So we need some time to get out of this crisis. The new municipal budget will soon be adopted, and thanks to the local administration headed by Dr. Dario Vraneš, Rudar started this championship. We gave a chance to young players, and some are interested in Borussia Dortmund,
he is also the first member of the club from Pljevlje to pay for the organization of several matches in Pljevlje with his own money.
– I would like to thank everyone who helps the club. Pljevlja is the energy center of the country, and by investing in sports, you are investing in the future of this city from which you are leaving.
Now that there is hope that young people can stay in all the cities, the sports clubs should be shut down, so that they cannot continue the competition…if that is the case, so be it. We will shut down the club, we will start from the lowest level, but that would have lasting consequences and would be a bad message for Pljevljak, Radanović concluded.
