The news of the day comes from Sarajevo! The new coach of the former Yugoslav giant from Grbavica has hired a coach from Saudi Arabia. Željezničar, after the departure of Nermin Bašić, has decided to entrust the helm to Abdulhakim al Tuvaidžri.
This football expert has honed his skills, among other places, at the Johan Cruyff Institute in Barcelona and has also been an assistant coach at Slavia in Prague. He received training as a coach in the United Kingdom. He has never been a head coach and is 44 years old.
“It is a pleasure to be here. Thanks to the people who believe in this project and strategy. For me, this is a moment of pride and a great honor to be a part of a club with such a long history, spanning over 100 years. The club has gone through different phases, and I hope we will achieve our goals together,” said Abdulhakim.
The club from Grbavica is now at a turning point.
“I want to thank the entire management as well as the people from Saudi Arabia, who have invested a lot in me. I hope this is the beginning of a quality collaboration. The goal is to return Željezničar to where it deserves to be. The results in recent years have not been what they should be. I believe in myself and my assistants, and that we will return the club to its rightful place,” the Saudi coach stated.
